Create Your Own Photo DVD

Here are some easy and exciting ways to creating a MULTIMEDIA DVD using your own digital photos, cool transitions, and music playing in the background!

At Costco you need to download free software called “Moments Captured” to make a Movie DVD

(Windows XP or Vista; not available for Mac users)

2. After you have uploaded to Shutterfly, you can then SORT your pictures by date taken, name A-Z, upload order, etc:  look at BOTTOM LEFT corner of “My Pictures” section for “Sort By” choice!!

3. Once you start creating your Shutterfly PhotoShow DVD, you can follow each step to choose your style, arrange your photos, and choose transitions and music.  Be sure to check the “enhance/edit” section where you can add captions with some borders.

As you follow the steps in Costco’s free software download, “Moments Captured” you will:

  1. BulletSelect from a variety of styles including Gallery, Vacation, Baby Boy or Girl, Mother’s Day, Graduation, Wedding, Sports, Christmas, and others.  Each style has music, but you can change the music later on as well!

  2. BulletNext, you will get your photos.  Some of the themes have a maximum of exactly 40 photos but it still helps to rename them before you upload them so they will stay in the order of your show. There are several themes using 100 photos.  The 100 photo themes allow you to use between 20-100 photos.

  3. BulletThe third step is to Customize with a personalized DVD title and cover photo.  You will also select from a variety of music selections.

  4. BulletPlacing your order is next.  The Costco Moments Captured DVD cost $15, and extra copies of the same DVD are $10.

You can make a free Photo Show for FREE, but you will have limited features--style, music, borders, etc.

You can upgrade to a premium level for about $39.

No Costco Membership?

You can download the exact same software to make a photo DVD for about $30---more expensive than Costco, but they often have special discount offers.

  1. 1. You can have up to 400 photos so you really must plan ahead!

  2. I would rename your photos on your computer before you upload them.  The Shutterfly PhotoShow DVD cost about $20.

Update as of June, 2010:   If you are on the Costco website, they no longer have a pictured link to the DVD “Moments Captured” website.  I have tried to find out why they took the pictured link off, but to no avail?  However, if you put the words “Moments Captured” in the SEARCH box at the regular www.Costco.com website, then you will come to the link.  Very confusing to me?!?

So-----I would just use the link from my website that is accurate: At Costco you need to download free software called “Moments Captured” to make a Movie DVD
